Hello Everyone,
Welcome to the realm of 40k from Games Workshop, but more specifically welcome to the awakening of the inner Necron inside of you.
Over the following weeks and months I will be sharing all of the information that I learn from playing the Necron army against friendly/non-competative opponents.
So where to begin do I hear you say? Well why did I chose to play the Necron army?
I'd like to say that they appealed to inner child in me but in truth it came down to a choice between Necrons (which just had an Codex update) or Tau, both of them drew me in. Mainly due to the numerous amount of Space Marine armies that were in the shop at the time and the ridiculous amount of players waging endless war against all over races at Warhammer World (yes I live near the HQ). No one likes spending their game turn killing off squads for the Necron player to turn around and resurrect all of their troops....oh the joys of rolling 4+
Like everyone other player I have spoken to I followed in their foot steps just like thousands of men (and women) have done before me. Shelled out £20-30 for the codex and also bought the relivent battleforce box set. After painstakingly contructing the figures and reading the rules behind them I constructed what I thought was a decent starting platform.
But in hindsight I was wrong only once I played a few games with my below 500 point army did I realise that I needed some of the additional squads to make this a more dynamic and eye pleasing army.
My advice for those of you still reading this is to speak to an experienced player (one that has the same gaming values as you) or a GW employee and between the both of you create an army list that YOU want to field. Remember its about having fun and enjoying the game, unless you want to be competitive then thats a whole different ball game.
On that note I believe that I've waffled on long enough about my introduction to the game. If you want to see videos on this subject rather than just reading it as seen then visit my youtube channel...
